Creating valuable professional relationships
Time & Location
Nov 24, 2020, 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM PST
About the Event
The most valuable learning at conferences often happens during the breaks, social activities, and in the evenings during informal chats with colleagues.
These types of conversations are helpful as we have the opportunity to learn about each other's successes and share our challenges. The outcome of these conversations often result in
- building valuable professional relationships,
- learning useful and practical solutions from colleagues who can relate, and
- brainstorming of shared challenges which lead to solutions we can implement when we get back to our organization.
Purposeful Conversations aims to provide more time and more opportunities for these types of fruitful conversations.
So, here are the details:
Create valuable professional relationships by sharing successful practices and collaboratively brainstorming ideas with colleagues from across the country on mutually shared challenges.
Who is Invited?
Hospital Development (HD) colleagues from across the country.
What will the event look like?
During the event, participants will have opportunities to share and explore with other HD colleagues in various breakout sessions. You will be sharing what you are working on or have developed and are excited about, and you can seek input and ideas on the challenges you are facing. Overall, the event's organization will ensure flow and exposure to various colleagues; however, the event will also be reasonably informal to ensure you have enough time to discuss and brainstorm on your chosen topics.
What is the cost?
No cost for this introductory event
Who is Coordinating and Facilitating this Event?
Glenn Matsuki & Hedi Aguiar
Glenn and Hedi both started on the same day at OneLegacy as brand new Hospital Services Coordinators. OneLegacy is the OPO based in Los Angeles. During their second week of orientation, they had the opportunity to attend one of the Learning Sessions during the National Organ Donation and Transplantation Breakthrough Collaborative that happened to be held in Los Angeles that month.
During this event, Glenn and Hedi came to appreciate the tremendous value of meeting colleagues from across the country and learning from them. Through the creation of strong and lasting professional relationships from this and subsequent conferences, Glenn and Hedi continued to broaden those valuable relationships.
Many years later, Glenn and Hedi continue to serve the donation and transplantation community in a consulting capacity and continue to build these relationships. We hope to share the value of our experiences by offering this event.
